Suede uppers

Brush dry suede with a suede brush in one direction to lift the nap and take off dust. A suede eraser, rubbed lightly, takes out a scuff or a dry mark.

If the pair gets wet, blot it with a towel, stuff the toes with paper and let it dry at room temperature. Do not put suede on a radiator or near a heater: heat stiffens it. Brush the nap once it is fully dry.

• A water and stain protector spray, applied to a clean dry pair, helps rain bead off.
• Pale suedes such as sand, apricot and pink show marks sooner than coffee, dark brown or black.

The cork bed

Cork stays springy when it is kept dry and away from heat. Do not leave clogs in standing water, in a hot car or in direct sun for hours, because the cork can dry out and crack along the edge.

When the exposed cork edge looks dull or dry, a thin coat of cork sealer, brushed along the edge and left to dry, keeps it from crumbling. The insole wipes with a barely damp cloth.

Faux leather

The PU upper of the faux leather clog wipes clean with a damp cloth and a little mild soap. Dry it with a towel. Keep solvents and polish for real leather away from it.

Faux fur linings

Spot-clean the lining of the slippers with a cloth dipped in water and a drop of mild soap, then press it dry with a towel. Let the pair air-dry away from a heater, and brush the fur gently to fluff it back up.

Our product data does not list the slippers as machine washable, so keep them out of the washing machine.
